Pregnancy is a wondrous, special time in a woman’s life and requires supreme self-care. When mom is radiant, happy and healthy, so is baby!Our prenatal yoga sessions offer a warm, supportive environment where expecting mothers can connect to their babies and deepest selves. The intention of our prenatal classes is to explore the fullest capacity of our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual beings as mothers in order to empower our gestational and birth experience.
Class will flow through a series of sequences designed to balance energy, from light, energizing, active postures to deeply restorative, soothing ones. Poses will focus on strengthening and preparation for birth, relaxation for a joyful, peaceful pregnancy and poses to accommodate the growing belly.
Common pregnancy ailments, such as sciatica, pubic symphysis pain, nausea, sleeplessness, digestive issues, round ligament pain, tight hips and back and anxiety will be addressed.
Meditation to connect mom with baby and to manage fears and doubts of labor and motherhood will be incorporated. Students will be taught breathing exercises to promote peace and balance. Yoga props, such as bolsters, blocks and straps, will be used.

Mommy & Me Yoga (ages four weeks to crawlers) - 10:30-11:15 a.m., Friday, July 7, 14 & 21
Join Brynn and her newborn baby boy, Grey, born April 2, for a fun and interactive mommy and me yoga class! Class will include yoga sequences designed to do with baby in arms as well as with baby snuggled in cozy blankets on the yoga mat. Core strengthening and postpartum total body recovery will be addressed. Students will be guided through mindfulness activities to improve connection with infant and meditation and breathing techniques to reduce stress and anxiety associated with the postpartum experience and role of 24/7 care-taking. This is a class for mom and baby, as well as for mothers to find a comforting community amongst one another. For babies age four weeks to crawling. It is recommended that the mother's lochia phase has ceased before partaking in class. Mothers are welcome to bring blankets or any items they need to make baby comfortable, although the studio provides mats and props. Price: Pre-registration: $12 / Drop-in: $15.

Full Moon Flow & Yin - 5 - 6 p.m., Sunday, July 9/ 5-6 p.m., Sunday, August 6
In honor of the full moon, students will be guided through a series of Chandra Namaskar (Moon Salutations), moving in a circular flow around the mat. Class will end with long, still Yin Yoga postures to facilitate a deep release of the physical body and mind. All levels welcome. Class passes apply/drop-ins welcome.

The Youghiogheny Riverkeeper is a program of the Mountain Watershed Association and has expanded MWA’s vision into the larger Youghiogheny River basin. The Yough Riverkeeper is the public advocate for the Youghiogheny River watershed and uses grassroots efforts to defend against further pollution, to improve water quality and to conserve the natural ecology and character of the region.

Leann will guide mothers in infant massage while Brynn leads the class in a fun and light-hearted yoga practice for mom and baby to a soundtrack of drumming music, which elicits the natural rhythm that lives and begins within all of us from the time we began growing in our mother's wombs. Summer Solstice Yoga Workshop - 2-3:30 p.m., Saturday, June 24
Students will be guided through several types of traditional sun salutations in honor of the summer solstice. In this class, we will break down the components of this Vinyasa-style of practice and learn about the history and philosophy of sun salutations. This is a heat-producing style of practice that tones and lengthens the whole body while synching the breath with movement. A yoga workshop designed to enhance your athletic performance. Begins with a vinyasa-style yoga practice and dynamic warm-up sequence, moves seamlessly into strength -building exercises and yoga poses and ends with a cooling flow with longer-held postures aimed at releasing connective tissue and common tight areas in an athlete’s body. Myofascial release using therapy tools, meditation and visualization for the athlete’s mind and breathing techniques (pranayama) for toning the lungs are incorporated throughout the session.
